The Public Living Room at Eagle House is a space for everyone: warm, open, free. It’s a place for community and connection and crafts; tea and biscuits; shared meals and quiet time. It has been open in Eagle House since 2021 with major renovations undertaken between 2024-2026. Thanks to a brilliant team of Anchors who look after the space, the space is open most afternoons for the people of Hastings to use however they like.

Dates For The Diary
Everybody loves a tea party right? Well on Saturday 26th of September, Hastings Common Room is hosting a Communi-Tea Party, for people of Hastings and beyond to come and find out more about what we have to offer.
Local bakers, bring your delicious delights, and maybe share some recipes and tips on how to make tasty cakes!
Knitters, crocheters and sewers, bring your Works In Progress, start a new project or show off your finest achievements.
Celebrating successes, and demystifying failure, that is what it means to be part of the Camerados network. We are celebrating the wonderful diversity in our town, so come one and all, of all ages, genders, races, species, abilities or disabilities, and learn more about what the Hastings Common is, and what we have to offer!
Growing The Commons: Join The Anchor Team
The Public Living Room always needs more Anchors! They’re the people who take a little extra responsibility and provide a friendly presence in the space. Come along to the Common Room, who knows, you might leave an Anchor too!
