Eagle House aims to be fully accessible to support your visit to the building, whether you’re heading to the Common Room, Youth Commons, OBX or private events.
Arriving at Eagle House
You can access Eagle House from the main entrance on Cambridge Road, or from the Alley accessed via Robertson Street. Currently, level access is only available via the main entrance on Cambridge Road.
There is a bus stop directly in front of the Cambridge Road entrance. The nearest parking is directly opposite the building on Cornwallis Gardens. The nearest car park is Priory Street Multi Storey Car Park approx. 200 metres from Eagle House.
The most convenient bus stops for Eagle House are Cambridge Road or Cambridge Gardens, though the area is well serviced by local buses coming into town.
Cambridge Road entrance
The main entrance to Eagle House has two doors that open outwards. The left hand door leads directly into the Common Room, and the right hand door leads to the main staircase.
Level access to all floors is available by entering through the left hand door and using the lift at the back of the Common Room.
If you do not require lift access, you can directly reach the Lower Ground, 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors via the entrance on the right, which takes you to the main staircase.
Robertson Street Alley entrance
If you’re heading to OBX or the Youth Commons you might want to enter directly at Alley level. One way to reach the Snug / Lower Ground floor directly is via the Robertson Street Alley entrance. You can reach this entrance by passing through the gate next to His Place on Robertson Street.
Please note that there is currently a step when you enter this way. For level access please enter via Cambridge Road. (We intend to install a ramp at this entrance, making this entrance level too)
